“Hi, my pond is 13 yrs old. This is my second pond and I’ve been into koi husbandry for 25 yrs. My pond has a 4000 gallon upper pond that feeds a lower 40k pond.
My pond is full of kodama koi fish and off spring. Unknowingly I built the perfect breeder pond. My koi fish spawn, eggs get swept away by bottom drains. 2/3 of the water goes directly to the top pond where eggs hatch and fry live and grow.
I am constantly cutting my numbers back due to high spawns. This year I cut my numbers back again and now have 50 koi. I am very proud of my koi herd. I am constantly thinking what breed I need to add to my pond lol.”
