Customer Story By: Edwin M.

My name is Edwin Moreno. I’m 17 years old, and I’ve loved koi fish my whole life. I even owned a couple when I was younger, but sadly, they didn’t survive because neither my parents nor I knew how to properly take care of them.

I had a very beautiful domestic Asagi that I always loved, and when it passed away, I stopped keeping koi—waiting until I truly understood how to care for them.

This year, I finally learned how to raise koi properly and help them grow quickly. Now, I have an above-ground pool with four Japanese koi (Shusui, Asagi, Showa, and Kin Showa), along with one domestic butterfly koi, which is my dad’s favorite. My personal favorite is the Ginrin Asagi because it reminds me of the one I had when I was little.

My parents love the pond and have been encouraging me to build a bigger, in-ground pond in the future. Hopefully, one day, I’ll be able to save enough money to buy a jumbo Showa koi—that’s one of my biggest dreams.
