Celebrating 25 Years with Heartfelt Thanks to Les & Dawn – A True Koi Love Story
As we celebrate Kodama Koi Farm’s 25th Anniversary, we are deeply honored to recognize passionate koi keepers like you who have become part of our extended family. Your story is a beautiful reminder of how a simple water feature can grow into a shared journey of love, peace, and purpose.
From that first small tub to your third expansion, every rock placed and every koi named tells a story of dedication and joy. The bond you’ve built with each other—and with your koi—reflects the heart of this hobby and what it means to us at Kodama.
We’re especially touched to hear how your pond brings happiness and calm to your home, and how your visits to our Medford location have grown into lasting friendships. It’s koi keepers like you who remind us why we do what we do.
Thank you for allowing us to be part of your koi journey. Here’s to many more years of friendship, finned companions, and shared dreams.
Customer Story By: Les & Dawn
“Where do we start. It all started about 3 years ago with a small tub that I set up as just a water feature and figures maybe a goldfish or two and then my wife got involved and now we are on the third expansion. What’s nice is that we do it together our pond is our own. We created it together it might not be the fanciest thing out there but it’s ours all the dirt moved and the rocks lifted were placed by my wife and myself.
I built this pond for her she works from home and had a very high stressful job and finds peace when she can go sit with them. Each one of the koi in the pond has a name and believe me she knows if someone doesn’t come up to eat. We have different like my favorite are the Showa I have a very large male in there we call him Pigleton he is gorgeous we purchased him this year he is a fan favorite in the pond.
Now my wife will say anything black and white is her favorite but she does have another love in there her ochiba he greets her every time we go out there following her everywhere she goes. This has been an amazing journey for us as new koi keepers and are loving the experience as well as meeting and making new friendships along the way. My new friends at Kodama in Medford Tomoko and Cody who I visit every weekend.
This pond makes my wife happy and that makes me very happy. I have been a fish keeper my whole life fresh water fish and salt water fish and this was something new to accomplish. I am loving it. If my wife could get what she wants it would be for the entire back yard to be a pond with a bridge we had to cross over and she would have one of every koi.
This has become her passion she examines them every morning noon and night to make sure everyone is feeling OK. These are truly her babies. Especially her ochiba as she calls Big Piggy she says she is gonna bring him indoors cause she loves him so much. Hope you enjoy our little piece of heaven.
Thanks,
Les and Dawn”
